Procedure documentationDefining a Component Structure Locate this document in the navigation structure

The component structure describes the key constituents in the component list.

Prerequisites

You have defined a component structure template in the Customizing activity Define Template for Component Structure under   Logistics - General   Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)   PLM Web User Interface   Recipe Development   Labeling  .

Procedure

By defining a component structure, which is a list of specifications with type Nutrient, there is no difference between the structures of data origins and RDAs.

You have the following options when editing a component structure:

  • Adding single items (specifications with type Nutrient)

  • Adding items from a group with type Nutrient

  • Adding items defined as component structure template in Customizing

  • Changing the indentations and moving items up and down the component structure

You cannot add a single specification to a data origin, but if you want to add a new item, you can add it on the component structure level. This also changes all data origins and RDAs.

If you specify a Statement, the Description column displays the phrase description of the specification in the selected language. If you have not specified a Statement, the identifier of the entered specification is displayed, according to the selected language and usage.

You can control whether or not the declared value of an item is shown in the final output by selecting the Display checkbox. If you have chosen not to display the item, you cannot edit it when a declared component value exists.
