Component documentation Absences  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This component is used to define regulations to determine how absences (unpaid leave, paid leave, illness, and so on) are handled in payroll.

You can define specifications to determine:

·        Which valuation basis is used to valuate a paid absence

·        Which absences are granted bonuses (for example, vacation allowance)

·        Which absences cause deductions in pay

·        Which absences are used to form statistics

Note

If you use Payroll France, country-specific provisions apply in the valuation of absences. For more information, see Absences.

Integration

To be able to use this component, you must record employee absences in the Time Management component or in a third-party system

Features

·        You can valuate absences as if the employee had worked. This enables bonuses for night work or for work on a Sunday or public holiday to be taken into account.

·        You can define specifications for determining deductions in pay for an unpaid day of absence.

·        You can determine vacation allowances for each day of absence.

·        You can specify that an absence be valuated using an average pay, to be defined at a later stage. This means that you can include the average overtime of the previous month in the calculation of vacation allowances, for example.

·        You can group absences together for the purposes of cost accounting or statistics to evaluate them subsequently for multiple employees.

·        You can valuate absences on the basis of particular conditions placed on the day.

·        You can valuate absences according to the absence entitlement from which they were deducted.

·        You can further refine several-day, whole-day, or partial-day absences according to country-specific or customer-specific requirements so that you can valuate individual parts of the absence differently.

·        You can set up special processing to realize other specific requirements.
